Introduction

Our goal is to get a glimpse at the various aspects of religion on the University of Missouri's campus.  We hope to get a well-rounded view through various scopes and perspectives.  How prevalent is religion at MU?  Who are the main figures around the campus?  What impact do religion and the various organizations have on students?
Through text and photographs, we can look at a variety of the campus organizations and discuss their motives and intentions at MU. We will highlight three specific groups: Chi Alpha Campus Ministry, Hillel and MU Skeptics, Atheists, Secular Humanists, and Agnostics.  Each group has different ways of going about their business, attracting members, and promoting their causes.
On our second page, we have narrowed the scope.  We focus in on the most notable religious figure on the MU campus, Brother Jed Smock. While many have their own reservations about Smock's beliefs and his antics, not many know the story behind the man in Speaker's Circle. Our audio and photographs capture this story, which focuses less on his beliefs and more on who Brother Jed is as a family man and how he came to do "the work of God."
In order to get the entire spectrum of religion at the University of Missouri, we must understand not just how the organizations work but how they impact student life.  Through video, we look into how MU students are reacting to and are affected by these various organizations and their tactics in Speaker's Circle.
We hope to have displayed a well-rounded look at religion on campus from multiple perspectives and from both a broad and narrow view of those who preach and those who listen and follow.  We hope our webpage will show the entire portfolio of what role religion plays on the University of Missouri's campus and the effect it is having on the student population.
